Carlynn Magliano Sweeney
Carlynn has been assisting attorneys and other professionals with their career goals since 2004. She has worked with individuals at all levels and specializations. Her personal knowledge of law firm and corporate life enables her to understand each candidate’s unique situation and goals.
Before joining Preferred Transition Resources, Carlynn was also the Associate Director of Alumni Career Services at Fordham Law School. Here she counseled students and alumni on their professional development, job searches, and career transitions. She conducted workshops on several topics including resume and cover letter writing, business plan development, communication skills, and successful networking.
Carlynn was also a recruiter working mainly in the legal sector. She successfully placed individuals into a wide variety of organizations, including banks, non-profit organizations, pharmaceutical companies, publishing houses, consumer products companies, and law and consulting firms.
Carlynn began her career as an attorney at two major law firms. She is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and Northeastern Law School. She is a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Career Advancement and Management, the Holy Cross Lawyers Association, and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association.
Carlynn is a frequent presenter on the topic of career transitions for lawyers, and has written numerous articles on the topic of career transition counseling, including “How Professional Coaching Can Assist Your Transition and Success In-House” (Inside Magazine). Carlynn and her husband, also a lawyer, live in New Rochelle with their three children.
